Strange things do happen and the proof for this is Vishal B, who completed the Bangalore Brevets 300 kms yesterday (12th Feb 2011).
This guy walked in to our store a month ago and said he wanted to pick up a b'Twin sport 1 bike. He had hardly been riding his Hercules MTB when he came by our store which rekindled his interest in cycling. A couple of more visits to our store and he wanted to do the Brevet 200 kms, but wasn't able to do so as he could not pick up the bike in time for the race.
An athlete in his own right, he finally sold off his Honda Deo and picked up the Sport 1 on the evening of 10th Feb to participate in the 300 kms Bangalore Brevet.
His "training" was his ride to the airport and back (some 60 kms) that he did on the morning of 11th Feb.
I'm really proud to tell you all that he was placed joint 9th after clocking 16 hours and 39 minutes. This triple, with no prior century let alone double century rides to his credit!
